Excellent service, and they really know what they are doing.

Polite, friendly, and extremely competent. A pleasure doing business with them! They have have a very good setup with a seperate production and development environment set up so you can't screw up anything important while your trying out new things.

Very good and fast support.

Great customer support! Took me just minutes to set up a web-site that took me hours of agony at Biznet. And the icing on the cake is it was totally free for me to stage the application whereas the other one refused to refund my first month when I told him I wanted to cancel after a day of setup.

can't beat this

Servers are quite fast and the support is second to none. Getting started was quite straightforward too. Surpasses expectation.

Slooooowww Servers

They have decent customer support. But, they only support JDK 1.2 on their Linus servers, even though 1.3 has been available for Linux for some time now. My biggest complaint, however, is that the servers are so slow. Viewing a 30KB JPEG can take 3 or 4 minutes. I don't know what their problem is and I really don't care. At this point I'm in the market for a new provider.

Dis-satisfactory Reliability & Support

This service is quite un-reliable in terms of uptime. The support offered is very very slow. SB Computing

Awesome Web hosting service!

I've been hosting with these folks for over a year. My company uses their business level (Bronze) and I have their basic ($10) account. I've never had a single problem. I just upload my Servlets/JSP's and they work. And even complex JSP's are FAST on both services. These were the only folks smart enough to setup my company's account the way we needed it. I would and do recommend these guys. They're a first class business and operation.

Faaaaaaast Servers!

I was reading through the reviews and a couple from the end this guy talks about their site being slow. HUH??? First of all if they're "so slow" why are you still hosting your web site with them? I did a whois on absolutejava.com and you're still hosting it with them. Second, your site is way fast on their servers even though you have no pictures. Third my site should be shown above. I have some HUGE graphics on my site and they download like greased lightening over my cable modem in Texas. What are you using a free dialup service? "I don't know and I don't care"? Maybe you should find out what your problem is. Give these guys a fair shot. Their servers are wicked fast. If you don't believe it look at my images page.

Best support from an ISP

I've virtual hosted with 1/2 dozen ISP's and so far Imagineis has been the best when it comes to support. I definitely get the feeling they are making an honest effort to respond to my requests and have gone to more trouble to answer questions than any of the other ISP's I've hosted with over the past 5 years. That's not to say they are perfect and there have been varying lengths of time between responses to tickets but the overall sense is that the variations in response time are due to volume of support issues or possibly the availability of support technicians and not because they are ignoring my requests. A few of my requests have been answered at 3 or 4 in the morning. The support people have impressed me with their knowledge of Tomcat and the servlet specifications. I haven't been with them very long to fully measure reliability but haven't had any down time and I've been out to my site many, many times in the past few weeks. Once JSP's compile response time seems very good, too. Having both development and production JVM's available is, to me, a very nice feature to offer. The only improvement to features I would make, and the reason they don't get a 5, would be an upgrade of Tomcat from 3.1 to 3.2.1(hint, hint).

I left AOIndustries after nonstop horrible service and chose iMagine for the new host service. I have been a little disappointed with tech support not responding in the promised timeframe, have had my DNS settings corrupted once, and my billing was messed up once (somehow a credit card with well ofver $1000 available credit didn't clear on a $20 charge - could have been MasterCard's mistake). These are minor issues, but enough to give the 4 ratings I gave instead of 5's. Overall I am quite pleased with the service and am very happy I left AOIndustries for iMagine.

An intelligently-designed mix of services for the professional developer.

I've used ImagineIS for 2 years now with zero downtime, but am mainly impressed by the "little things" they do for you. The Tomcat/mySQL environment they give you is split between dev and production domains, with 2 JVM's optimized for each case. Your "dev" Tomcat domain, for instance, uses a private JVM that you simply telnet into to (re)start, making iterative development as painless as on localhost. And their mySQL/JDBC environment is so well setup that stuff runs "right out of the box". I was flabbergasted to see that a one-line remote datadump from the DOS window was all that was required, and my software ran verbatim (well - I changed one database connection string I put in web.xml, but impressive nonetheless). This ISP is characterized by such thoughtful conveniences, such as their excellent FAQ on working with Tomcat, Java and mySQL, that it's obvious the people who run it are actual programmers. Moreover, they run a 6-hour turnaround for tech support questions. I use this ISP exclusively for teaching all my students, and I don't think I would ever switch.

They don't give service in 6 hours as they claimed. I opened 2 tickets but I didn't get a response within 48 hours for each. Also, I left phone messages twice. Nothing happened. I gave up and decided to change ISP. I'm looking for one.

Don't look any further. Imagine is what you want. I've used them for the past year and a half. As far as server speed goes, I live in england and so their servers are a few hops away from most of my users. but even still they're as fast as servers only one or two hops away. and price? if you're paying more than what imagine charges, you don't have it all my friend! especially if you consider what these crooked isps here in the uk charge for servlet hosting. with imagine you get way more than your money's worth.

I am very very very satisfied from imagineis customer service. The Contact System they use with their customers enables me easily to ask them for changes and support. This company's customer service should be an example for every company that gives services. As a lecturer for eCommerce in Universities\Colleges I find their contact system as an example for utilizing the power of the web. Try them and you won't be dissapointed!!!

Since I opened my account, I haven't had any problems, so there isn't a lot I can say. Their new services are really good and they have excellent pricing, and they haven't gone down at all. Good job, I would recommend them.

Pretty Darn Good, but Not Great Reliability

I switched to imaginis after trying another provider. Their service has been great, their prices are very good, and their mix of products and services are good. The bad news is that within the first 20 days, our server has been down twice (that I know of) for 20-30 minutes. Who knows how many times it's been down that I haven't noticed. Other than that, I've been pretty satisfied.

They go above and beyond the call....

I just signed up with iMagine and was having a bunch of problems trying to implement headless operation in a servlet for dynamic graphics. iMagine's tech support got me up and going in no time with what was not a trivial problem.

Thanks Fred & Jason

I've used ImagineIS for almost 2 years now and had excellent reliability with them. Support is great too although sometimes they can be a little slow to respond, but when they do they are very helpful...Fred and Jason really know their stuff! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ImagineIS!

A Great Value for Hosting

I use their entry level shared JVM for $10/month.

The best aspects: I have used them for almost a year. The best aspect of the service is the knowledgeable support staff. Now with JVM 1.4.x and Tomcat 4.1.x supported, their feature offering is quite complete.

Room for improvement: While I have on occasion noticed e-mail returned slower than the promised 6 business hours, it still has always been well within reason for the nature of the support tickets I submitted. Also, the servers can be a little slow for some of the more intense servlets. (Static web pages seem fast however.)

Good if you need a development environment but definetly not for production

These guys are really cheap, so if you need a server to test your stuff out then it's a good deal however if you want to deploy your application then I wouldn't recommend hosting it here. The support is good however their connection to the internet is extremely slow.

I've been with iMagineIS for almost 8 years, they have provided me with an excellent personal service, understand about Apache Tomcat and the inner workings of Java. They have even helped me out with code issues in the past.
